What makes men at powerful positions give in to momentary weaknesses and put at stake all that they have earned? There are number of such examples – Clinton, Woods, Arnold, Kahn and then our home grown Shiney.
What could be so strong as to risk life’s work, reputation and family?? The thrill of the risk involved? Yes that could be one. Or could it be the basic primal instinct?
Or is it just the rush one gets from taking risks? In addition, the belief that they are invincible and could get away with it. Maybe they would have gotten away a number of times. But still doesn’t the “what if” play in their minds?
Or could it be the momentary lapse of logic. Or are these actions a result of a jiffy of insanity. Are these premeditated?
Or could it be the misplaced sense of entitlement, something that makes these men feel like they are doing a great honor by forcing themselves on someone. Like a privilege they are bestowing.
Whatever it is that goes in the minds of these powerful men of position, it must be something really potent. Potent enough to entice them to put everything at stake.
What do you think?
